Moving through trauma

Do you ever feel stuck in a feeling? Do your moods or reactions seem overblown or numb to the situation at hand? Is it difficult to be present or focus? Does daily life feel too difficult to manage and simple tasks feel too monumental?

No matter the precipitating event, trauma impacts us, and our nervous systems, deeply. It disrupts the mind-body connection and can leave us feeling unmoored and unsafe. It

Together, we will create a deeper understanding of trauma’s impact on what you feel and how you feel it- working to create a sense of safety and control again.

You’re trying to hold it together— but something underneath still feels unsettled and stuck.

As a trauma therapist, I am dedicated to going beneath the surface by guiding my clients through reflections that incorporate somatic cuing to build a three demential understanding of what they experience and connect the mind and body. In our sessions, we won’t just talk about what’s on your mind, we will tune into what your body is holding too.

My ongoing training in EMDR, IFS, and somatic based practices help invite curiosity to our sessions, where we explore the nuances of your experiences and relationships, as well as the variety of ways trauma can impact your nervous system and lead to dysregulation. We will explore tangible somatic practices, both in and out of session, that take you beyond deep breathing and invite visualization and other regulation tools for when you feel most activated. Together, we will build an individualized “tool box” that is reflective of your personal experiences, realities, and needs, ensuring you get the care that is most needed for you.

Through our work, we will build awareness to patterns that feel most stuck and repetitive, become curious about harmful negative beliefs, and explore ways to give yourself the grace and kindness you need to move forward and re-engage with life.
